Yael Lederman

Managing director


Yael is a junior at Stanford majoring in Biomechanical Engineering. She is passionate about the intersection between biotechnology and entrepreneurship. This summer, Yael worked at 500 Startups in Tel Aviv as an Investment Intern. She enjoys the beach, writing, traveling and being outdoors. She has been on the Cardinal Ventures management team since fall 2015.


Tina Jiang

Director, external Relations


Tina is a sophomore at Stanford, studying Symbolic Systems with a concentration in Human Computer Interaction. This summer, Tina was a marketing intern at Casper, a startup aiming to disrupt the sleep industry. In the past, Tina has also been a fellow at Highland Capital Partners and a marketing intern at Ringly, an Andreessen Horowitz-backed wearable tech startup.

Jeremy Intal

Director, Internal Relations


Jeremy is a first year-MBA student at the GSB focusing on commercializing artificial intelligence. Before coming to Stanford, Jeremy worked at Pearson launching products in the higher education space and mentored first-generation college students at America Needs You. He graduated from Northwestern University in 2011. When he’s not working on Cardinal Ventures, you’ll probably find him hiking or en route to a concert.


Sherrie Wang

principal, external relations


Sherrie is a third-year PhD student studying Computational and Mathematical Engineering, striving to do good with machine learning. Before coming to Stanford, she worked at Goldman Sachs as an analyst in the Corporate Risk Management group. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 2014, where she started a business to tutor and mentor high school students. She loves to hike, read, sail, and learn new things.


Nicole Birkner

Principal, internal relations


Nicole was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica and is a freshman looking to major in MS&E or Symbolic Systems. In 2016, Nicole launched Fresquiticos, a socially-conscious business that creates natural, healthy sodas with Costa Rican fruit flavors. Outside of Cardinal Ventures, she is an intern on the Stanford Women in Business’ Community Initiatives team, and also works with Professor Pamela Hinds on the Local Motors project.


Eddie Mattout

Principal, Campus relations


Eddie is a freshman at Stanford studying Symbolic Systems. Eddie lived in Caracas and Mexico City when he was young, but spent most of his life in New York City. Before coming to Stanford, Eddie served in the Israel Defense Forces and co-founded a non-profit that runs summer camps for orphans and youth-at-risk. During his free time, Eddie loves to hike, surf, and listen to live music.

Ashley Baxter

Principal, Campus relations


Ashley is a sophomore at Stanford majoring in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in Decision Making and Reasoning. At Stanford, Ashley teaches Public Speaking in the School of Engineering and is a member on the Business Education team of Stanford Women in Business. This year, Ashley spearheaded the Scout Program at TSG Consumer Partners to aid the private equity firm in their search for the latest trends and brands. Ashley loves to surf and considers herself an ice cream connoisseur.
